The 1st Infantry Regiment is officially known as the "Capital Infantry Regiment" and it serves as the ROD's honor guard. It is a light infantry regiment, and all assigned personnel are qualified as such, but the  regiment's primary mission is to provide security and ceremonial duties for the ROD government. The regiment's line battalions are actually larger than a typical light infantry battalion because it may be called upon to perform simultaneous missions such as state funerals, celebrations that include military honors, security for the ROD government and foreign heads of state, and QRF for the ROD capital an other high value targets. In addition, members of The Rock are sometimes called upon to travel abroad to provide security for ROD officials.

And on top of all of this, the members of this regiment are highly trained light infantrymen. Members of this regiment are some of the best and brightest infantrymen in the Army.
